I have the men's heavyweight tee and I thought this dress would be comparable. The tee is soft and a heavier weight that denotes luxury, but not so much that it can't be worn in the summer months. Based on the fit notes, I purchased a small tall as it said the fit was Oversized and it appeared like the dress was overly large on the models. I wanted that look but didn't want to be overwhelmed. The dress is not oversized. The small basically fit my hips, not tight, but like a straight shift dress. The cut wasn't boxy and it wasn't oversized anywhere. I returned both colors, black and brown and ordered my regular size medium tall hoping for a better look and fit. I honestly didn't notice how thin the fabric was in the first order as I was so disappointed with the fit. Second order was just as disappointing. Okay fit, but still not oversized. The dress was not cut for a boxy look. The sleeves do not fit like on the model. They're regular sleeves and thought they would be 2 inches longer based on the tall fit but they aren't and the circumference is too small. The only nice thing was the length. I'm 5'5" and wanted a maxi look. The tall hit at my ankles which was perfect. I think the only way this would fit oversized is if I bought an extra large which would be too long if I got tall and probably not long enough if I got regular. The fit on this is very concerning, confusing and frustrating. If I were to keep the medium tall, washed it and hung to dry it would shrink. I noticed how thin the dresses were on the second order. Not at all like the men's heavyweight tee. This doesn't feel like a hundred dollar dress. At best it's medium weight or moderately lightweight. I am a size 8, measurements: 36, 29, 40. Had the dressed been designed and cut like what the models are wearing the medium tall should have given me that look, but the dress on the model and the dresses I received are not the same. I am disappointed

I wasn't sure about this one but given some of the reviews but I love it!! The fabric is slightly heavier and thicker so the dress drapes like it is supposed to and has that over sized tshirt look!! So cute!

This dress was advertised as oversize but it's not...size up one size if you want extra room in the dress. It was advertised as maxi but it's not...lol. I ordered a tall L because I like a maxi length. I ordered the brown which is a nice change from my usual black. The material isn't flimsy...it has a nice thickness...I like the dress & wish it came in more colors.

Sorry, but I had to return. The shoulders seem a size larger than the rest of the dress. It didn't fit well in arms and shoulders. Liked the fabric, a little heavier but not sweatshirt heavy. Wish there were pockets.

Was really looking forward to it, but the dress turned out to be a big disappointment: the labels do NOT say "Tall" as ordered (I always make sure to get TALL and LONG for all my dresses, pants, skirts since I am tall with a 34" inseam) and are too short. Know the difference between a truly classy, haute couture, expensive look vs. budget mass-market styles? The proportions+fit+fabric quality. Classy fit = a generous allotment of fabric for EVERY size, not just for XXS size & 4'8" height, so even the taller & heavier people don't look like a stuffed sausage in a short casing. Also the longer the length, the classier the look. Floor-length ALWAYS looks classier than ankle or calf length. Better fabrics are a denser, finer weave that holds shape, drapes & skims the body in a more flattering manner than cheap ones. Not saying there are no good pieces in the mass-market segment: even at Gap and Old Navy I used to have pretty good luck with decent quality fabrics and cut. But this dress misses the mark: it is NOT tall or oversized and "heavyweight" only at a tropical coast. Fabric feels about 5.6 oz-weight, dress ends mid-calf on me (I'm 5'8"), & their "oversized" must now mean "not skin-tight," not even baggy. Gap's normal XXL size is normally quite oversized on me. Not this style. And they closed all Gap stores in my city but one, a full hour away. No, can't return Gap merch at, say, Old Navy (because that would be too convenient, and who would want that!). Makes me regret ever opening that email to make me aware of this dress and break my own promise to myself to never shop at Gap again due to the nightmare of their return process I went through during the holiday season.

And the proportions: the longer the length, the classier the look. A floor-legth skirt, dress or pants ALWAYS look classier than those that end at the ankle or, heaven forbid, at the calf. And the better fabrics tend to be a denser, finer weave that holds shape, drapes and falls on the body in a way more flattering manner than the cheap mass-market ones. Really nice quality dress and good structure in the neckline and shoulders. I liked the silhouette and fit (quite oversized) but ultimately didn't keep this piece because the slit on the side went kind of high up.
