Daveed Baptiste
Daveed Baptiste is a Brooklyn-based Haitian-
American artist whose work celebrates
Caribbean culture. He creates sculptural
garments blending art & fashion.
For this collection, Daveed was inspired by his
migration from Haiti to Miami. “I think about
crossing the ocean, roads, waves, and
migration. They'll show up in designs
graphically through things that feel and look
super fluid.”

Born & raised in the Virgin Islands, Igdaliah
Pickering's designs are infused with Carribean
culture. Surreal textiles. Bold colors. Made to
celebrate self-expression.
For this collection, she honed in on every detail,
like the turquoise-teal denim. "I was inspired by
my culture through color. Then just that little bit
of flair that you would get from a Caribbean
person."
IGDALYAH

Designer. Tailor. Scientist of textiles.
Jimmy Latouche is a Haitian-born, barrier-
breaking suit maker to the NBA players.
His designs blend classic tailoring and bold
color, inspired by his roots. "My inspiration for
this collection came from the Caribbean and
Haiti. I also experimented with manipulating
denim by adding pleating, structure, and
ballooning."

Waina Chancy is a Haitian-born designer who
uses rich textiles and architectural forms, all
inspired by her heritage. "Haiti is such a vibrant
country and you can see that in my pieces."
In the '90s, Waina took her first post-high school
job at the Gap in Miami. It's where her obsession
with denim began. "I've always known I wanted
to be in fashion. When I moved here, I realized I
could be."
