I wear a tall size and I have wasted so much money purchasing t-shirts since they discontinued the "old" Modern T-Shirt. I could not find anything that matched the quality of the modern tee and I didn't like the one with the slightly longer sleeves that Gap was offering. This "new" modern t-shirt... fits the bill and I'm ready to get rid of all the mediocre shirts I bought from other places trying to find that "perfect" fit of Gap's Modern T-Shirt. This one is not quite at soft as the old one but the fit is really nice and it is still thicker than most Ts on the market. Time for me to purchase more!
I've been wearing a variation of the Modern t-shirt since the 90s…it wasn't even called modern at that point. Im the last couple years, the cut and quality of fabric has changed. The fabric while initially soft and visually appealing, pills much more quickly with just normal wear and it is overall, ...thinner. While the fabric composition has been the same for several years, there is a quality difference in those fibers. If you are GenZ or a young millennial, you may not realize this and think this stuff is great, but for anyone older, it's a bit of a bummer. The reality is, everything has gone down in quality, and one has to find a balance between affordable price and quality expectations. But, I'm not quite sure if Gap is really that much better than Old Navy is certain things. Today's Gap is probably close to ON quality from 5-10 years ago. My daughter has a pair of jeans from Gap that are less than 2-3 year old and already has holes where the pockets were sewn to the backside. And, these where not lightweight cotton. So, buy the shirts, they certainly aren't trash. But buy them on sale, wash on cold, dry lightly on low, and then hang to dry. And be prepared to deal with pilling!

I've purchased the Modern Fit T-shirts for YEARS, and I'm always a size medium. I just ordered several shirts, ripped off the tags without trying them on - because it's what I've always ordered, and they always fit, so why bother them - and just put one on for the first time. They are TINY. The size medium fits like an Extra Small. I essentially can't wear them in public without looking ridiculous. What the heck happened?!?!?!?!?!

I guess Gap is trying to save on fabric and decided to shorten their t-shirts! Horrible!! I have been living in these t's for 20 years, so sad to see them destroyed!! Shame on you!!

Most clothes run a little big at Gap for me but if you're on the taller side, I would suggest going with a tall. This shirt is super soft and comfortable. Great material. Ordering more colors. #sweepstakes

Been looking for a nice t-shirt to wear professionally under a blazer with slacks and this one fits the bill and a reasonable price. Slightly thicker material with just enough stretch, true to size, have only hung to dry to avoid shrinkage and maintain quality.
