I'm 5'2" and often wear petite size Medium in GAP clothing. Since this dress has a slim cut and is in a mini length , I ordered a regular size in Large. The fit was perfect (not tight around the belly) and the length was perfect (slightly above the knees). The sleeves are puffy. If you have short ar...ms, it may be too voluminous but can be altered to them slim down. I love this dress. Fabric is a medium weight and not too heavy or thin. Can wear with boots in the Fall and flats in the Spring/Summer.
What is going on with the sizing here? I'm 5'5", 135 lbs and always get an M or sometimes a petite M in Gap dresses. I couldn't even button the M, it was SO tight! I then exchanged it for a large which fit (I could button) but the sleeves were so large and puffy and the rest of the dress just looked... too big. It's such a cute style, I really wanted it to work, but just did not. Gap-why the inconsistency in sizing??

I do agree it does run a little smaller I ened up ordering a small, petitie small and petitie medium but found the petite sizes to fit better. I am 5'1" and about 120. I am going to keep it since it is so cute and the denim is not too thick.
