I've been buying Gap Kids khakis for my 3 sons' school uniforms for 10 years, and our go-to has been the "lived-in" khakis. These "straight-fit stretchkhakis" are very similar in style/quality (which we love for our skinny kids), but the sizing is VERY different. 8 regular in the lived-in khakis f...its him perfectly right now, but 8 regular in this style is WAY too big. I'm saving them because they will be great in a year or two. If you're like me and have been buying khakis from gap for years, you may want to size down in this style.
The pants look great and feel like decent quality, however they never get much wear before the knees tear. Here are 4 pairs 2 from each son who wear them, some pairs last longer and some do this within a couple months. They barely are faded before they begin to tear in the same spot. Some are reinfo...rced in the knee but that doesn't do much when the quality in the outside is poor. I've been tossing the other pairs and then started collecting each pair to do mending and by the end of the year had 4 pairs of near new school pants with rips in the Sam's spot. I'd gladly pay more to keep these from going to landfill having them patches is time consuming and costly and looks bad.

We get these pants for my son for his uniform for school. He is 9 and really has trouble getting the button undone and buttoned. Even when I try to button it it is not easy. I wish there was a way to make the button easier, especially when kids are in a slight panic because maybe they waited a little too long to use the bathroom or something. I'm afraid it's going to be really difficult for him to get that undone. Otherwise they're great pants though eventually they always have holes in their knees.
