I am tall. I am mostly tall from my legs, with a torso length which borders other short side of regular. I ordered a 12 tall as I'm between 10 and 12 in most brands, and thought if they shrink no harm, whereas the size 10 shorts from ON from 2 yrs ago I hate, rarely wear and finally am too hot in su...mmer so I'm getting all new shorts. The rise is listed as mid, and shown as under the bellybutton... are the models wearing petite?! Do they have super long torsos?? These came well above my bellybutton, like a super high rise. I'm 42, have had 3 kids, don't exercise and hormone shifts are making me want to start, so the rise wasn't a deal breaker, even though my proportions would look comical if I tucked a shirt in, I'm just explaining for reference. No, the issue comes from feeling like maybe I'm supposed to have a lot more bum hip and thigh for a 12? Because they seem way too big. They hit at a very, "I'm a modest adult" spot from my conservative dresser perspective, but there is a lot of extra fabric. I good 1.5 to 2 inches off the leg circumference, and a smidgen off the hip and out of the seat and I'd look like I at least have a bum, and not like I'm wearing an A-line sack. So I ordered 12 regular. These fit. It's like comparing 12 regular with 14 tall, but all fit the same according to there specified fit. Also, the regular colors are just better. Black looks lived in, khaki is brighter and warmer and the green is more drab and classic. Fabric for either fit is thick and feels like quality compared to the Old Navy trash, and very soft. May get more while on sale.
Fabric is heavy like 1990 Dockers. No stretch. Too much fabric. Unflattering. My husband agreed. Put on my older shorts and instantly felt and looked better. These are being returned. I want something with lighter weight fabric that has stretch, and a lower waist. I don't need shorts up to my ribs.... (FWIW, I ordered 2 and 4. I usually wear a 2 in Old Navy and Gap and the 2 fit fine, including the waist--I know that is an issue with this style for many. 6', 120 lbs)

The color is a dark khaki, nice with different colored shirts. It is a little higher on the waist, which is nice for mom tummies. Super comfortable and really make the backside look good. 5'7 172 lbs Size 10 is perfect.

gapcanada.ca/Love the cut and style of these shorts. Unfortunately the white ones are see-through except where the pockets show . A thicker fabric or a lining would have solved this. Well made.

These shorts are very soft and comfortable. I love the pink colour. They run a bit small in the waist. My usual size is 12 but had to go with size 14 in these.

I really like these shorts, I'm probably going to order more colours. The material has a nice structure without being too heavy like a lot of khakis which is nice for a short. The length is perfect, I am between sizes and opted for the bigger size so it is comfy through the waist and doesn't ride up. #sweepstakes

These shorts are the closest I've found to 100% cotton (these are 3% elastane.) Like the length; the fit is a bit loose which is fine for this style of short, plus it means I can choose to tuck a shirt in easily. Got a size 6; 5'3" and 116#...probably could've gotten a size 4 but wanted a casual, relaxed fit.
