Two things that absolutely drive me nuts about Gap in general and these pants in particular: //
1. How is that Gap cannot make the same label-size in all 3 colors fit the same? I ordered all 3 colors of these pants in the same size (XXS Regular), and all 3 are cut and fit differently. The "Peat Brown" (which is actually a dark moss green) is the narrowest of the 3 pairs across the hip and thighs (and therefore the best fit for me) but it is entirely too short. The navy and the "Birch Beer Brown" (which is actually a dark maroon) are longer by about 1.5" (good), but they are also cut wider through the hips and thighs (bad). The "Birch Beer" is the widest of the 3 pairs across the hips and thighs, and does not fit like an XXS by any stretch of the imagination. //
2. The second issue that consistently bothers me with Gap pants is the fact that the designers insist on adding inside drawstrings to elastic-waist pants while leaving the elastic-waist larger than it should be. This is a terrible design that defeats the purpose of the elastic waist altogether. Either make the pants only with an elastic waist (which i would prefer), or only with a drawstring waist--having both is not a plus in any way whatsoever. //
Overall, these pants are not bad--I like the fabric (and I even like the color combinations between the main color and the side stripes), but the inconsistent sizing (with both the length and the width of the pants being all over the place) is a huge deal-breaker for me.
