I bought this for my husband. He wore it on my vacation exactly like it's styled on the website. He loved it, you can dress it up or down. The fabric is linen like and the color is perfect.
These could be really nice but they run so large, it is not even worth the exchange process. I have a 34" waist, ordered a 33" and they are falling down. I measured them, button to button hole they measure 37". This makes no sense. If the sizing was linear I would try a 30 or a 29, but guessing ...like that is not worth it online. Go to the store and try them on, it will be the only way to find a good fit.

I bought these for my husband, who is 5'6" and a 36-inch waist. He loves how comfortable they are. The legs are on the baggy side and they definitely look like "dad shorts," lacking a tailored look. The shorts appear slimmer in the photos than on my husband.

These are nice heavy-gauge shorts, much thicker material than I expected. They seem to flare a bit because of the material thickness but altered easily to make them a bit narrower.
