Nice and thick, works well over a leotard. Can't comment on longevity as we've only had them a week. My daughter loves the color
My 6.5 yr old granddaughter didn't like the way they fit. The rise bothered her a bit on size 8. Size 10 was ok, but on both the seam on waist band bottom bothered her.
