This dress exceeded my expectations. I bought it on a late night, insomnia-fueled bender, and I wondered the next morning if I'd paid too much for yet another jean dress. Much to my delight, this dress is pretty perfect. The stretchy jean material, adjustable straps, and the smocking in the back mak...e the fit much more tailored than your average jean dress. My only tiny [and very fixable] issue is that it's a little longer than mid-calf on my 5'5" frame, which feels closer to maxi than midi to me. I tried on a lot of the denim dress offerings at Gap and liked this one and the button down maxi dress and loved the yellow version of this one. The fabric is so thick that it's not ideal for summer but the fit was good so I was going to make it work but then the metal ring connecting the strap to t...he body of the dress snapped open. It dawned on me that the fabric is simply too thick for the thin metal ring to hold it intact.

Bought this in yellow and it's adorable. Very flattering and comfortable and has pockets! I'm 5'7" 139 lbs 36C and the M fits well. The cut of the bust could be a bit more generous but it works for me. Fabric is thick enough not to need a bra or nipple covers and it has pockets!

This is a good versatile dress - a wear anywhere, dress it up or dress it down type piece. It is true to size and I'm going to keep mine. Taking it on a vacation where I think I can use it daytime for a casual museum type outing or add jewelry and a wrap and use it for a dinner. I do agree with the other reviews that the material is much heavier than it looks -- it's also described as 100% cotton with some elastaine -- but it actually feels pretty much like a light denim. I happen to be going somewhere that is not as warm as planned. So I'm going to keep it. You would need to be at least 5' 5" to wear this dress - it's quite long.

The fabric is heavy, the hardware on the adjustable straps is chunky and the overall dress on top didn't work for me. It weighed down my smaller frame. I really liked the shape of the skirt. I just wish the dress had been made of a lighter denim fabric. I purchased the dark denim. I would have liked to try the light blue denim, in hopes it was made of lighter fabric but it was out in my size. It would have been much better as a spring dress. #sweepstakes

This dress is IT. Nice weight dark denim with a very flattering bodice and long, full skirt. It looks and feels high end and it's super comfortable. Will be great with flats, sneaks, heeled sandals, boots…I'm 5'2 and the petite length hits me just above my ankle.
