Bought similar shorts last year and liked them so much I ended up buying triplicates of the only color available. I dropped the ball and didn't look for them early enough this year. I was able to buy most of the colors I wanted except the BROWN, which I really wanted. I agree there is some discre...pancy in sizing with different colors but not a big deal at all. I ended up liking the fit of the 29 in the white,but for the denim shades my usual 28 was fine. If you want them very loose and baggy, then size up but if you want regular comfortable, not tight fitting shorts, these are my favs, in my usual size. They are soft and so comfortable!!!! Hoping they restock the BROWN!!!!
After reading the reviews I bought 3 pairs in 3 different sizes, hoping one of them would be the right fit. I experienced the same thing mentioned by many reviews here…the sizing, cut and material differ from pair to pair. Two of them are made of a thinner material and will fray terribly. The third ...is made of a thicker material and it seems like the fraying will be manageable. The cut though is just odd and I can't imagine any body type it would flatter. Almost like a barrel cut but in shorts. With the thinner material especially the shorts sag inwards in the bottom half of the leg. Who knows if anyone on the Gap product team reads these reviews, but in my experience the things people complain about are valid. All women want are clothes that are somewhat flattering with consistent sizing/fit and accurate measurements on the website. Trying clothes on in stores is usually not an option since even in a major city it seems like I cannot find all of the sizes I would need to try.

i am a very consistent shopper at the gap. i read the reviews and boy were they confusing! i have the lighter (almost white) and the black in these shorts. they blew me away; the fit was very flattering on me (i am 5'3) and shockingly not too long. i have been shopping for denim cutoffs all year long (i have love the brand a gold E ) and these are much more affordable and comfy. i wear 32 in most denim, i got the 33 and thought theyd be too big but after washing and drying they have been great. slouchy but not sloppy and very comfortable!

They're very comfortable that I feel like the fabric is a little thinner than the dark denim and I worry that it won't wear as well.

I'm 5'4 and 135 lbs, I'm usually between a 26 and 25 but ordered a 26 based on the reviews, 25 would've been perfect. They are very cute and I hope the 25 comes back in stock. (Brown)
