They are soft, but that's basically the only redeeming quality if you don't want "sexy side leg" or your butt hanging out of them. There is no actual cloth for the shorts! It's just a huge pouch for a non-existent 6-8 inch crotch. If you pull the shorts up as high as they're intended to go (because,... of course, EVERYTHING must be "high waisted" these days, even freakin' PJ shorts), the amount of cloth after the crotch is not even an inch. AN INCH to cover your legs. If you don't wear them up as high as where your bra ends, then you have 6 inches of cloth hanging down between your legs, which is not appealing at all. They might as well call these glorified underwear. Why is it so impossible to find any clothing for women that's acceptable to wear to bed if you have older children, family in town saying for the holidays, etc. that actually fits? And of course, nothing ever has pockets. I'd say, buy athletic shorts, but those are even worse when they're for women, and the pouch for your pockets hangs down lower than the hem of your shorts half the time, if you happen to even put your phone or keys in your pockets. Or, they're so tight-fitting and don't even have pockets at all, so they also might as well be underwear. Sixth online purchase from Old Navy / Gap that I'm now going to have to return this year, because it's not made to contain female body parts or cover them.
