I was really drawn to these jeans because of the mid rise and the understated barrel, so I was thrilled that they were available in my usual size 29 and on sale. When they arrived, I could barely get them buttoned, much less zipped up, because they were cut SO SMALL through the hips. It made me feel terrible about my body. However, I really liked the cut of the legs, so I ordered them again one size up. Still could barely get them zipped, still WAY small through the hips. So I ordered them two sizes up, only to confirm that, no, this is just the way this pattern is cut. The hips aren't cut any larger than the waist, which is NOT HOW WOMEN'S BODIES ARE BUILT. The waist on the pants two sizes up is massive, and this size does zip up but is still uncomfortably snug. Gap, please try again. Bring me in to be a fit model. I don't have weird proportions––my waist is 32" and my hips are 42". These don't work at all. I don't understand the other positive review at all.

I love these jeans! I love that that barrel and wide leg and horseshoe have finally arrived. It's like my people finally arrived at the party! But these are sublime. More streamlined yet baggy enough to make me happy. I went up a size as recommended for a more relaxed fit. Perfection! The weight of the denim is mid and not stiff at all I love it. A little drape, not too much. They sit low on me since I went up a size which I find the most comfy way to wear denim.
