This sweater is lovely and a beautiful heritage piece. However, this is vastly smaller than similar gap sweaters. The other 100% cotton sweaters I have from this season are all XS - I'm 5'9" and 120lbs, I have to size up to a L to get a similar fit - otherwise the sleeves are SO short and the sweate...r looks too cropped. My normal XS or S literally looks like a child's sweater. I'd take at least one, if not two, sizes up from your normal GAP sweater size.
Bought two - brown and off white. Brown fits perfectly (slim, not tight; short, not cropped) but white (definitely not off white) was noticeably bigger and arms were pieced together wrong, creating bulges on top of shoulder. Kept the brown (love) and returned the white. Mixed review is for the incon...sistency in sizing and quality control. Pro tip: size up if you want to put this sweater in the dryer. It's 100% cotton and will shrink.

This sweater is great. It has a mid-to-almost heavy weight to it. The roll neck sits at the perfect place on the neck that allows a white t collar to peek through. the petite hits right at my hip bones - not cropped and not long (truly so great). it's fitting but not form fitting. I'm normally a Small Petite and ordered a Medium Petite based on reviews and am glad I did. For an even looser, slightly oversized look -size up two sizes.
