Wow wow wow! This dress has a lot of material and takes some adjusting, but it is amazing! For reference, I'm 5'8", 160, 36DD and ordered a medium. Having a larger chest made it feel overwhelming at first, but after adjusting, rolling the sleeves and adding a wider belt over the attached one…. Amazi...ng! Love the longer cuffs and the stiff collar - details that add to the drama. So versatile and timeless. Also well made! Don't pass up this wardrobe staple!
I was very eager to try this dress and scanned every image/video I could find online, but I was still very disappointed with all of my purchase-- either too big or too small. I do wish gap would be consistent with their vanity sizing-- it's like playing roulette with your final sale purchases. The... size on this dress was ridiculous. I am 5'6" and 116 lbs, and I like looser fits, but this dress is unwearable for me. The fabric is a poplin that both tends toward rigid and holds a wrinkle -- like paper. The length and cut of the dress are not apparent from the photos and dimensions were not provided to help a consumer make an informed decision prior to a final sale item. I did not realize the sleeves would be dolman shaped-- can you tell? Quite frankly, I don't think they balance out the volume of the dress. The color was off from the photo--the color felt dimmer than I expected from the image. The end effect... I look like I wrapped a giant brown packing paper around myself and tied it with a belt.

Gap nailed it with this dress. I originally purchased the tan version and liked it so much I bought it in the white and the navy. The fabric is crisp. The fit is great. I'm 5'7" and 108 lbs so the length is fun. Instead of the self-belt, which is fine, I put a chunky wide belt on and it's a modern, stylish, easy look for work or weekends.

I'm glad I listened to other reviews. I am usually a small in gap (5'11'' 140) and I ordered an XS. I could have gone down to XXS but as a tall person I would absolutely never believe I was this size. So yes the dress runs very large. It's oversized on me for sure but I don't mind. I took off one star for the lame "Gap Studio" embroidered on the cuff. At the sale price for the white I think it's a good deal.

High quality dress. The fabric is a little stiff, even after washing and there's SO much of it. It can easily fit a wide range of body types. I would have sized down had I known.

HUGE!! If not for the great tailoring, it would look like a literal tent. As is, I'm already swimming in a sea of fabric (although in the best possible way). Order two sizes down - I ordered one sz down based on existing reviews - it's really large.

Ginormous doesn't begin to describe this dress. I am usually a 1x or 2x and 5'8". You could fit two of me in this XXL and it drags in the floor.
