I wear a tall size and I have wasted so much money purchasing t-shirts since they discontinued the "old" Modern T-Shirt. I could not find anything that matched the quality of the modern tee and I didn't like the one with the slightly longer sleeves that Gap was offering. This "new" modern t-shirt... fits the bill and I'm ready to get rid of all the mediocre shirts I bought from other places trying to find that "perfect" fit of Gap's Modern T-Shirt. This one is not quite at soft as the old one but the fit is really nice and it is still thicker than most Ts on the market. Time for me to purchase more!
I've been wearing a variation of the Modern t-shirt since the 90s…it wasn't even called modern at that point. Im the last couple years, the cut and quality of fabric has changed. The fabric while initially soft and visually appealing, pills much more quickly with just normal wear and it is overall, ...thinner. While the fabric composition has been the same for several years, there is a quality difference in those fibers. If you are GenZ or a young millennial, you may not realize this and think this stuff is great, but for anyone older, it's a bit of a bummer. The reality is, everything has gone down in quality, and one has to find a balance between affordable price and quality expectations. But, I'm not quite sure if Gap is really that much better than Old Navy is certain things. Today's Gap is probably close to ON quality from 5-10 years ago. My daughter has a pair of jeans from Gap that are less than 2-3 year old and already has holes where the pockets were sewn to the backside. And, these where not lightweight cotton. So, buy the shirts, they certainly aren't trash. But buy them on sale, wash on cold, dry lightly on low, and then hang to dry. And be prepared to deal with pilling!

I ordered this Modern T Crewneck Shirt thinking that it was like the current Modern T Crewneck Shirts I had previously ordered. These new ones are "Horrible". The material is not the same, the sleeves are much shorter and they are not as thick as the older ones they made before this style. I don't know who's "Bright Idea" it was to change these shirts but it was one of the worse decisions ever. This t-shirt was one of the BEST shirts they ever produced and now with this change it's as bad or worse than the "Vintage" T-Shirt.

Some of these Modern T-Shirts in Tall are still long enough. Have been buying all varieties of the Modern T for years - until everything got cropped, now it's hard to find the longer versions to add to my everyday T-shirt stash. The yellow is pretty- not as pale as I was expecting. Feels so nice against the skin, haven't found any others to bet it.
