fabric pilled after 1st wash

Two stars because the fabric is very soft and comfortable. I love that these are pure cotton. However, after the 1st wash the fabric pilled so badly and the fabric shrank a lot and it's evident up the front of the shirt because it no longer sits flat. This might be fine after a year of wear but 1st wash tells me Gap couldn't be bothered to preshrink the fabric. If you're a woman and like a well fitted pj, do not buy this set.
