This is a great sweater. It's beautiful, I love the weight and that it's 100% cotton. It reminds me of the sweaters I used to wear in the 90s. However, like others have noticed, the sweater smells like fried onions or a stinky restaurant smell. I initially thought that I had received a sweater that... someone else had purchased and returned, and the smell of that person was left on the sweater, but after reading other reviews, it seems like it's a common issue among others that have purchased this sweater. I purchased three colors and the only one that smells is the cream. I'm debating if I'm going to return it or try to get the smell out of the fabric myself.
I own several of these sweaters and buy at least one every season. They're part of my (L.A.) winter uniform. I purchased two sweaters (lavender, XL & navy blue,XXL), they arrived separately. The lavender isn't as oversized on my plus sized body but it still fits nicely. The navy blue sweater is over...sized perfectly and the color great for me. So why the 3 star review? The blue sweater smelled like straight up chopped white onions. I wore it to work(!), but didn't notice the smell since i had a bit of a cold that was worse in the morning. I smelled some funk all day, thought it was a co-worker's lunch. To my horror, after taking some cold medicine, I realized the FUNK was coming from ME!! I've washed it and it still smells! so if you buy it and it smells return it.

As others have stated this sweater is so smelly. Multiple washes - multiple attempts to get rid of the onion, body odor smell. Terrible.

I saw a few reviews of this sweater before I purchased it saying it smelled like onions, but I purchased anyway hoping I wouldn't have the same problem. Unfortunately, my sweater does indeed smell like onions. It's really weird and disturbing. I've washed it twice, and both times the smell is gone straight out of the washer, but as it air dries the smell returns, as if it hadn't even been washed. I'm now concerned the smell might be from harmful chemicals or dyes and now I'm afraid to wear it. It's very unfortunate as the sweater fit perfectly and was just what I was looking for. Gap should remove this sweater from sale and figure out why some of these sweaters reek of onions, it's very disturbing.

I am thrilled that Gap has started offering more cotton sweaters, they are the only kind of sweater I want to wear anymore, and this one is my very favorite! It's the perfect weight for the most comfortable, slouchy fit. I am typically a size 8-10 and wear a L for an oversized fit.

This sweater is lovely and feels like a nice quality but unfortunately it smells like bo/onions. I usually don't believe reviews that complain about smelly clothes but believe this- straight out of the package it smells like onions. Sad because I like the sweater but I'm going to return.

These sweaters are what I expect from Gap, amazing quality, gorgeous cut, beautiful colors. I have 6 of them and can't wait for the next set of colors to drop. I hope Gap keeps these around for season to come. I ordered Medium, I normally wear a tall size but the Medium fit perfect as they are oversized. If you are looking for a very oversized style I recommend ordering your normal size as I sized down to ensure it is not too oversized, I was looking for a more classic fit. I recommend ordering yourself a beautiful sweater in a fun color!
