Bought this in mid 2022. Black medium. Stiffness: finally wore off but took around 3 years of wearing sporadically and NEVER washing it. Color: still the same as never washed. It may have a slightly subtle settling of the color so the black looks a little rubbed out is best way to describe it. Smell: yes, the black was pretty darn smelly like a chemical. if you are patient type of person, this can work but, if memory serves, it took around a year and a half for odor to wear away. In the off season I jammed it in a bag to soften it. very couple of months, I'd take it out and refold into a ball but a diff direction. Can you tell I take my denim seriously? So patience did pay off. 3 stars for me paying the price of wanting it so badly that I kept it and went through all of this without knowing end result. 3 stars since it worked out...but 5 stars for me. BTW: Hey GAP, I had a difficult time understanding due to a heavy accent by rep las time I needed to call. Can you get this figured out so the customer does not have to struggle. thanks.

I bought this in the next size up to replace my previous Gap Jean jacket of 8 years. Love the sizing/fit. The coloring is nice too, adds interest. Love it!

Overall when first purchased it looks really nice. I went size bigger because I like wearing hoodies under and fit just nice. At first I thought some of the comments of it being washed were just crazy talk or bad product but they were spot on. I did 1, yes just 1 wash and followed the instructions and the color faded like I had been wearing it for 2-3 years. I had only worn it once as well. The light blue-wash color turns like nasty blue color. I'm disappointed for the first time from buying from Gap. Any material like these I'm buying from the other brands that focus on such material. Never had an issue with gap before.

This jacket is, in every way possible, exactly what it says it is. A classic denim jacket that elevates whatever it is paired with - with jeans? The true Canadian Tuxedo! With dressier clothes? Sublime. It sounds funny to consider denim as an investment piece, but it is. Truly iconic.

Definitely made for males — jacket is broad shouldered and narrow waisted, and sleeves were comically long. I had better luck with sizing up with Tall Women's jacket. The light denim is different than pictured — more of an acid wash look.

Great cut and feels sturdy. I'll be returning it as I don't love the wash in person. My only other complaint is minor in that the cuffs don't have an adjustable button.
