Tried in store but had to size down even more and ordered online. I have short arms so I went down 2 sizes. I didn't get any hint of odor in store or in my package and I have a sensitive nose. It's not a warm jacket but it's very much a "cool girl" look.
Overall, the jacket is cute, but it's not worth the price. It's decently warm but definitely not something to rely on in colder climates. It's difficult to zip up because the zipper leather lining gets in the way. The zipper lining already had plastic peeling when I took it out of the package. I e...xpect better QC from the Gap.

I sized down based on other reviews and had to exchange it to my regular size (small). Generally when it says "oversized" it swallows me up on my 5'5" 130 lbs frame but this was the perfect oversized fit that drapes nicely. Love it!

I found it quite difficult to zip. And the jacket had already started to peel on the zipper portion when it arrived to me. It's not insulating so should be worn with layers.
