I was not expecting this dress to be a silky material, maybe I just wasn't paying close enough attention. It's really beautiful and looks more high end (in black). But it also does run big. I ordered a bunch of stuff all size M and this was the only item that was too big. I'm returning it since I do...n't have a need for a silky black dress, but also considered exchanging for a S cause it really is a nice dress.
This dress looked so promising in pictures, but was completely disappointing in person. I have never tried on a dress more see-through than this, I was actually shocked by it. I ordered the light yellow, but I don't think it matters what color you order, it's the material itself that's very thin and... transparent - as another reviewer said, it's sheer like a night gown. The bodice and waist were also very ill-fitting and loose. I have several dresses and jumpsuits that I love from here, pease do better Gap! To retail at almost $50, this is extremely poor quality.

I normally get a large but this one ran a bit bigger than normal. It is stretchy on top I think I could have sized down to a medium and still would have some room. It was a bit see through on the bottom half but nothing a slip can't fix. The washing instructions do say to wash in a mesh bag which I suggest because material seems like it would snag easily.

I like the fabric of the dress, but the fit is not good for me. It seems to run very large and it pretty bare in the back. Maybe size down?
