I don't know who made up that sizing guide but obviously if you are a women's medium you shouldn't order the medium if that is also supposed to fit a men's medium. These pajama pants are super soft! Being able to choose length is an added perk and so appreciated as I'm a shorty :) and have a hard time finding pj pants that do not drag floor and trip me. I love how they fit and love the red & cream/white check that has fall and holiday feels!
