I usually size up in pj pants because I prefer an oversized fit. I don't like tight fitting clothes- or even correctly fitting clothes- when I'm at home. Especially when I'm sleeping. I bought the poplin shorts in the same pattern in size large. They're perfect. I bought the poplin pants in the same size, assuming they would have a similar fit, but as it turns out, they don't. These pants are huge. I like oversized clothing but they even feel too big for me. Also there's no drawstring so there's no way to adjust the fit. I've noticed that the sizing is inconsistent. It's difficult to predict how pj pants will fit unless you try all of them on. Also the gender neutral pj sizing concept needs some tweaking. A regular women's medium is not equal to a men's medium. It corresponds lo more closely to a men's small than to a men's medium. Also bring back the drawstring.

I usually wear an XL in pants, but these fit quite loose and so you could probably size down! Despite them being a bit too big, they're super comfortable and I love the feel of the cotton. Also love the the look of the logo waistband when folded down.

I love the fact that Gap carries 100% cotton pajamas. They are super comfortable. These were my first replacements of similar pajama bottoms I had from Gap for 15 years before they had to be retired, but the bonus is they have them in petite size so I don't have to roll up or anything.
