i already knew that it wasn't going to look like the pictures as it's clearly clipped in the back in front-facing photos but ugh!. for the black long sleeve, the photos of the model from the back and the flat lay are the most accurate images of what the top looks like. at least for me, i ordered a s...ize small and it's more roomy around the torso than i would've wanted but it's ok. it's long! i'm 5'7 with a longer torso and the regular length goes down to my hips. the material is soft and thick but not too thick.
Ive worn the modern fit boatneck Ts for years, always purchasing in black, white, grey and navy. It's usually an incredibly flattering fit with a graceful neckline that goes with just about everything. I just received some white ones and was pretty disappointed to see the quality fall off. Now made ...in Cambodia rather than Indonesia, the material is much thinner and less substantial, has a coarser feel to it, and the stitching on the neckline is no longer the thick smooth edge it once was, but now a thin, doubled over hem that doesnt lay as flat. I dont have confidence these will hold up as well as my previous once have, which is a shame. I also purchased more of the crewneck modern Ts and those look and feel the same as before, so it's apparently just an issue with the boatneck. If this is your first time purchasing, you wont notice Im sure, but for those who are repeat purchasers, as many are, be aware of the sad change.

Unfortunately these are not the same boat necks from a couple of years ago. Gap seems to have changed the fabric these are made of... I have purchased many in the past. The fabric was heavier and the boat neck wider. They were my favorite top ... worn daily. I am very disappointed in the quality!

Is used to be my favorite shirt. They were form fitting, kept their shape, were size properly and lasted. But Gap has cheapened out. They are loose and thin and cheap now and im 5 foot and had to buy a tall because they are so short. I have ones from 5 years ago that are still in great shape with spandex, now a brand new one looks more worn than a 5 year old one. Even the advertisement picture of the model, you can see how cheap and loosely it fits. I have one in every stuke and every color, now I will never buy one again unless they go back to their old formula.
