I'm a Med/Lrg in Gap sizing depending on the cut of a top, but do prefer a looser fit. I ordered this vest in a Large. For reference I'm a 36H and couldn't button up the middle button comfortably. There was a lot of gaping. The length is great, the denim is thicker but comfortable/soft and the wash ...is perfect. I will try the XL in the store.
When I first saw this online I was crazy for it. My size was not available at the time and I forgot about it until I went to the store today and saw it irl. I was thrilled. In my size. I couldn't wait to try it on. I looked like a box. Perhaps had I been taller and had a much smaller waist it ...would have worked but alas, I had to take it off and put it back. Such a cute idea but having it on just didn't work. The fabric was very nice.

Thick/sturdy denim (zero stretch!) that makes it quite structured. Shows belly button especially if you're tall. Overall, love it!
