I loved this skirt so much that after purchasing it in the wrong size, I drove to the closest gap near me to size down. Highly recommend buying this skirt in a size smaller than you'd normally buy - the elastic band makes the skirt fit larger on the waist then usual.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

I shop from the Gap frequently and this is probably the lowest quality item I've purchased from them. The seam doesn't lag flat on the side, so your hips look like they're bulging. Additionally, the sizing is inconsistent across the colors, the size black skirt fits at least one size smaller than the brown one. I'm a pear figure and found the waist to squeeze my hips no matter what size I tried, causing a muffin top appearance. I'd say only buy this if you're desperate for a slip skirt.
