I used to be a 26/27 pre-pregnancy but based on reviews decided to size up to a 28 in the pants. I'd only put on 10lbs in the pregnancy and thought this was safe. I was wrong. The legs were ok but that hip/waist line where the stretchy fabric met the jeans had no give and I was carrying low. Plus th...e hips were tight. No one wants maternity pants that dig into their belly. I opted for the 30 and they're great, albeit a bit loose on the legs. I worry that that hip line will get too tight again on the waist at 8+ months. But for now, they're comfy boyfriend cut jeans that genuinely look like real jeans, that I was missing in my wardrobe.
Why is it so hard to find decent maternity jeans???!!! I orginally wear size 30 or 31 pre-pregnancy... ended up purchasing sizes 32 and 33 based.on size chart and reviews that they run big. Kept the 32 even though it was lose.on the hips but it was tight around the lower waist. Just wore these f...or barely a few hours and then material stretched out so much on the butt and hips that I look like I'm wearing somebody else's pants. Terrible!!! Now I guess I can't exchange for the smaller size?

I'm 20 weeks and sized up from my normal pre-pregnancy size 26 to a 27 and they fit decently well: Unlike the other reviews, I have no issues with the panel/band and believe it should stretch/last me through the pregnancy. However, I already have to unbutton the "button" for comfort due to where it hits on my belly. My tops cover this part anyway though so not a major issue. Overall cut of jeans are cute and what I was looking for. I'm 5'3" and the short hits right above the ankle for the "trendy" length.

I sized up from a 27 (my size in non-maternity Gap jeans) to a 28 since a lot of the comments said that these run small and I should not have done that -- the 28 is definitely too big. They of course stay on because of the elastic band so I am making them work, but I'd take your regular size. They are very cute! Would recommend.

I sized up one size from my pre pregnancy size and I could pull them up all the way but they were way too tight and not comfortable to wear for any amount of time. I would size up 2-3 sizes. Very tight in thigh area too.

I must begin by saying I love GAP products, their quality, value and customer service. However, this style of maternity pants missed the mark. The ribbing is far too tight to fit over the belly even at 18 weeks of pregnancy. We tried two sizes and neither fit. Moving to the next size up would mean the pant area would be too big. Sadly, these pants just did not fit .

Don't like the maternity clothes are not available in store and then when wanting to return have to ship back, not convenient at all

Like other women have mentioned, these run really small. I have a pair of Gap's wide leg full panel jeans in a size 28 and they fit my 26 week bump perfectly. I read that this style runs small so I ordered a 29 and they barely button. The belly band is super tight and they're also very tight around my thighs. Will have to return.

Comfortable overall with slight stretch, and the waistband is a nice touch that makes them feel like normal pants. Looser than I expected in the leg though, and a little long for the regular size.
