I got my usual size but I also carry most of my weight in the lower body. The hips are not tight. It is very low cut up top. This is a well made dress. The satin is thicker than usual but in a good way. Comes well packed and not wrinkly. I loved it so much I got a second color. Weight 160 height 5'1...0. Athletic pear. If you buy too big, the middle will look weird but you could Taylor it. I recommend usual size or upper end of usual size. #sweepstakes
Good: solid fabric that does have a drape, very different from cheap slip dresses on the market; Bad: the fit model Gapstudio uses must be very tall and thin torso, typical luxury label type of fit model, because the 00 on 5'4 107lbs body is way too long that the look is off. It zips up but very tig...ht on the ribs with no giving. Highly recommend to try on before buying or ready to get multiple pieces and return. This dress has so much potential but only work (to achieve that look captured on the ecom pix) for a very small demographic. That is understandable for a luxury label but for Gap, one would expect more. Just have a bit more stretch in the fabric, and show the fit on different type of body and height on the website, it would help this dress convert so much more.

I am a size 6 and I read the reviews so I ordered a size 8. The fit on this dress is way off. The chest area is way too tight. It zips but an 8 should not fit like a size small with zero give.

The quality of this dress is not what I would expect from a "studio" piece. In top of that the sizing is incredibly skewed and if you size up for the top half to fit the bottom half is a mess… Just don't waste your money (even if it is on clearance)

My main complaint is that the straps are so flimsy and the fabric slippery and cheap that the bust kept slipping down. The fit isn't flattering, and makes the torso look long and square. The quality just is not there and the dress isn't designed for more than five minutes of wear.
