This really is a cute dress, but it's too short to be worn in a professional environment, and it's too "business-y" for me to want to wear as a casual everyday item. I'm 5'4", and when I stood stand straight up, the dress hits 2-3 inches above my knees. Unfortunately, as soon as I raise my arms or... bend at the waist at all, it becomes much shorter. A few things that may be useful to others: First, the gray herringbone fabric includes wool. I think it was 29% wool according to the tag. Second, the pockets are real (though stitched shut... you can unstitch them). It really is a nicely made item, but it's just too short.
I find that Gap dresses usually run on the larger end, but I had the opposite problem with this dress. I ordered my usual size large, and it was so snug. There's no stretch or zipper. I feel like I would have to order two sizes larger for it to work. Will be returning.

gapcanada.ca/It's an elegant and classy dress. The navy is a gorgeous rich colour. It is a straight silhouette. I'm 5'1" hourglass shape and ordered my usual size petite L. Although it's a bit snug in the hip/butt area, If I had the option to size up, (Gap, plz extend your petite size range) I wouldn't, because it would be way too big in the chest and shoulders. I might have to alter the shoulders a bit on this one.

I love this dress. My husband thinks it looks good on me. I bought the petite small and the sizing is prefect for my 5'3" height. I have one complaint is that it has no pockets!
