This really is a cute dress, but it's too short to be worn in a professional environment, and it's too "business-y" for me to want to wear as a casual everyday item. I'm 5'4", and when I stood stand straight up, the dress hits 2-3 inches above my knees. Unfortunately, as soon as I raise my arms or... bend at the waist at all, it becomes much shorter. A few things that may be useful to others: First, the gray herringbone fabric includes wool. I think it was 29% wool according to the tag. Second, the pockets are real (though stitched shut... you can unstitch them). It really is a nicely made item, but it's just too short.
I find that Gap dresses usually run on the larger end, but I had the opposite problem with this dress. I ordered my usual size large, and it was so snug. There's no stretch or zipper. I feel like I would have to order two sizes larger for it to work. Will be returning.

I find that Gap dresses usually run on the larger end, but I had the opposite problem with this dress. I ordered my usual size large, and it was so snug. There's no stretch or zipper. I feel like I would have to order two sizes larger for it to work. Will be returning.

Ordered the blue and red. Love them both. Great material and beautifully lined. Bought the XL based on reviews and the dress is huge and needs to be taken in. Ordered the large and it fits but snug. So, I'll keep the XL and get it tailored. Really unfortunate that can't be more exact with measurements. Good thing I got a steal for the dress so don't mind altering.
