Allegedly organic cotton, but, note that material isn't GOTS certified or OEKO-TEX certified. Material feels plasticy out of the package, then a bit softer after the first wash; time will tell on its comfort and longevity. As an adult woman I am wearing the XL (finding cotton "boy shorts" underwear ...for women was a surprisingly difficult endeavor). The leg length is about 3" down the thigh and the material doesn't roll up the leg while moving or sleeping.
I ordered all 3 sets of these boxers brief underwear for both my sons, so 6 sets total. Both sizes of the striped ones were not the same quality. As far as the actual material they were slightly less soft but my issue lies with the inside stitching. Both boys tug at the boxers during the day when th...ey wear these striped ones because the inside stitching is scratchy compared to the other designs. Not horrible (unless kids have sensory issues) but definitely not the same quality as the other designs, regardless of size. I placed my first two orders with Gap and about a third of both orders came far below my expectations or defective. Everyone told me for years Gap had better quality items. Decided to give them a try but between both orders not sure if quality has gone down or just had a fluke back to back.
