The dress fits great in the shoulder and bust area, waistline is where it expands and does not contour. I ordered an XL as that's my normal dress size and it was huge. The fabric has great amount of stretch, I could even fit the medium. But even 2 sizes down I would still need to take it to a tailor... to nip it in the waist and give it some more shape. If you're around 5'10, go ahead and grab the tall. I usually will go for a regular in Gap dresses as I often feel their dress lengths are too long, but this fabric really lifts with you making it incredibly short and revealing. For reference I'm 5'10, 225lb and will be returning the regular large and xl, and opting for a tall medium. The dress itself is super cute, so I want to make it work! I do wish it was in black as opposed to navy. Cream was all that was left in my sizing, and while I'm not usually a cream customer - the color is very nice!
Can y'all make this dress longer please, as with a lot of "mini" dresses? I'm 5'4" (so not super tall) and 115 lbs. So, I have to order an XS in dresses. There's rarely a tall option for XS, and when there is, it just looks awkward. Especially with such a classy-looking dress like this, it would've ...been nice for it to be closer to the knees so we could use it for work if we wanted to. Anyway, I appreciate that I can always count on GAP to find good quality materials, like cotton in this polyester pandemic. It was a great quality and beautiful dress, but I'm knocking two stars off because of the length.

This is a really cute dress and appears to be high quality. I originally ordered a small but it had a small hole. I returned it and had to order a medium because small was sold out…the M was a bit looser but still cute. Regular length was fine on me and I'm 5'8, 153 lbs.

I bought Petite Medium. The petite length is perfect for 5'0". Hits about 3-4 inches above the knee. Very stretchy and fits great in the body - for reference I usually wear size 10 in Gap jeans and a Large in tighter fitting tops. The navy color is rich. The material is a thick rib knit, but it is not bulky.
