I sized up based off a review because I'd rather it be loose than snug. I could've gone with my regular size but the shorts have a working draw string that I can tighten them up with, so I'll keep the bigger size. The only thing I would change would be to add a pocket or two.

The waistband is not as good as the previous version of these shorts. As shown in the photo the elastic waistband goes all around the waist which can feel annoying on my stomach . These are not a relaxed fit pair of jeans. They are actually a baggy fit, but if you're OK with that, then this is a good product. That's why I gave it four stars.

The warmer summer days mean jeans were no longer wanted, but I wasn't ready to transition out of maternity wear postpartum. And POCKETS! Not all maternity wear has them, and the shorts don't fall off when the pockets have contents in them. #sweepstakes

The waistband is not as good as the previous version of these shorts. As shown in the photo the elastic waistband goes all around the waist which can feel annoying on my stomach . The previous version only had elastic in the back and the front only had a draw string so the feeling was much more gentle . Also these are a bit short so for me as a tall person the bottoms edge rides right up which is also not super comfortable.
