I live these shorts. I live in Florida where it hot and humid and these help me to look like I'm put together without having clothing stick to me. The waist band for the medium if very comfortable on my waist. I'm 5'4", My hips measure about 39", waist is 27" and I purchased the petite medium. Like with most linen, the light colors will require nude colored underwear.i thought this longer length was going to look super grumpy on my shorter stature, but the flare of the shorts gives it good shape. Didn't care that they were wrinkled for the picture; a steamer takes care of it.

Just got these in new off white and the shape of these are very flattering on my shorter rectangular shaped frame. These are also long enough to wear to an office job and very easy to dress up with a nicer top.
