Comments about Gap × DÔEN Eyelet Midi Dress

On the hanger, this is an absolutely beautiful eyelet midi dress! Alas, the waist is so uncomfortably tight. The skirt and bodice are constructed with extra fabric, so if I went up a size to accommodate the waist, it would be VOLUMINOUS. I found the workmanship to be elevated for the price point, and I also don't expect it to be on par with a several-hundred-dollar DOEN dress. I thought about keeping it and adding some hook-and-eye fasteners at the waistline to support the lone button fighting for its life. But I decided it would be uncomfortable enough in the heat of the summer that I would actually avoid wearing it. Too bad, because it is gorgeous for the price!

Wanted this dress to work. Too much fabric and sizing ran weird

The fabric and details are so pretty, but the sizing was way off. The waist is small and the chest is hugs. I was so hopeful!

Sadly, this dress just isn't Doen standards. I love that it's lined, but it's thick and the material feels cheap. I ordered my usual small and there are about 6 inches of extra material under my arms, at least 3" on each side. It's possibly an issue with the pattern, I'm not sure, but this dress sadly went back.

Ordered an XS & S, the XS was extremely tight in the waist but huge in the underarm area & straps. The S was huge everywhere & too big to be altered. Had to return both. I really loved it, so bummer.

Beautiful dress but very ill fitting, the waist is small and the top portion of the dress runs large. There is gaping in the armpits and in the chest area. I wanted to love it but can't justify keeping it, I expected a lot better for the price.

I often struggle to find dresses that fit me properly. They are always either too tight in the bust area or too big in the waist. This actually fits me perfectly as many have mentioned here. It is quite large in the bus area and fitted through the waist. For reference, I wear a 38K bra and 16/18 5'11" The extra large fit perfectly through my waist and there was actually enough room for my bust. I might have to get it in white. The quality is excellent. It does have a bit of elastic in the back that is completely covered. Love that detail.

I agree with other reviewers - the sizing is off on top as if someone sewed a larger top onto a smaller skirt. I'm in between a S and M, but got the medium. I actually really like it - I'm 5'4" - not too long, not too short. The fabric is a nice, pretty, medium weight cotton, and it's lined, not see through, overall really well made. The straps are slightly elasticized to be adjustable for fit, but I'm a petite up top and they're a little long, which I can get altered. I can barely button the waist, so if the smallest part of your waist is 30" or less, the medium will not fit; however, I do like how it defines my waist. I'm around 138 lbs and a 34DD for reference and it's still loosey-goosey up top, especially along the upper edge (it bags out under my armpits) - I'll need to get that tightened up a little as well. There's a little bit of wide elastic hidden in the seams at the back of the waist and upper edge (could use more at the upper edge). No zipper, so you have to unbutton the waist buttons to slide it over your head. I usually will never spend over $100 on a dress, but because of the quality and style, I'll make minor alterations and keep it.

Really wanted to love this as the details are beautiful however the waist is too tight for the rest of the dress. Buttons near the waist are placed in such a fashion that leads to pulling, which is simply poor attention to detail. For reference, I am 4'10 and 95 lbs and ordered an XXS and . Dress is half lined and overall has a very heavy quality, not the breeziness one would hope for.

I knew the quality wouldn't be the same as Doen, but I was surprised how bad it was. The fit was terrible. Not flattering at all. I'm 5'3, 120 lbs, small C cup chest, and I was swimming in the chest of an XS dress. I had several inches on either side, under my armpits. I'm not sure how big of a chest you'd have to have to fill this dress, but a C cup wasn't enough. Also the straps felt elastic and cheap. Bought the dress in both colors, sending both back. So bummed. Really wanted to love but didn't even like.
