I've been wearing Gap knit tees for decades (since the 90s) before they were called modern. The fabric has changed over time, especially the last couple years…definitely lighter weight compared to 3-5 years ago. The newer ones are more of a modal and it will pill over time compared to older shirts…t...hough still better than other reasonable priced brands. Though, I think those of us 35-40+ can see a difference in quality in everything you buy, so it's basically the retail world now. 🤷🏻‍♀️ So far, see through for the white hasn't been an issue, BUT I have not tried this years white. It is notoriously hard to find a truly opaque white. On the bright side, the fabric is soft, stretchy, and does fit my curves nicely without needless pulling or bagging. And, the colors do maintain their color through multiple washings! If you hang dry (I dry for maybe 10 minutes), they will look lovely and wear longer. However, I am very very glad I purchased the colors I did buy this season in tall based on reviews. I have a long torso for my height, and it would have been too short if purchased in regular. They are absolutely skimping on length and fabric costs. They offer plenty of other shorter options already and I really wish they would not have updated or caved to a trend. I like to have a variety of lengths and do have shorter, but I also need the longer as well. My daughter who is shorter in the torso will love these though.
