these run so so small, im normally a medium but i ordered a large and it's still a bit tight

Well, I sized up because I have a shirt similar to this cut… but sizing up didn't help. This shirt is extremely cropped. I may need to size up to a medium? Or maybe large? For reference, I normally wear an XS, but I just need this shirt to hit slightly below my belly button and not barely cover my bra if I lift my arms up. Anyway, if it wasn't quite so short, it would be perfect. The material is so soft, and it's really cute if you ignore the fact your entire torso is essentially open to the breeze.
