Beautiful dress, does not work for pear shape
The green color of this dress is gorgeous, and the lace is just perfect. Unfortunately even after trying two sizes I could not make it work for my body shape. I am just slightly a pear, hips just a few inches larger than my bust. The hips were very tight, while the bust too big. Beautiful otherwise.... I will add that I tried the tall size at 5'10" and it was too long, down to my ankle nearly. So I would say runs tall to begin with. Otherwise true to size I would say.
This dress is so pretty, but then you put it on and it just doesn't have a shape. It is just a rectangle. I bought it for my youngest daughter who normally wears this size in every other piece of Gap clothing, and it just looked like a lace refrigerator box. She wanted so badly to wear this to the symphony. My other daughter who is two sizes up from her tried it on and it looked the same on her as well. Seeing as it is a final sale, and I paid so little for it, I will keep it and try to take the waist in for another time, but we were quite sad that the shape wasn't up to par. #sweepstakes

This dress in black, is interesting with its pretty lace outer layer but that's it. The top looks boring as you can't really see the lace texture and the neckline is boring. Maybe the lace should have extended above the straight neckline to better match the bottom.
There is no stretch to the fabric, no darts, and no curves at the seams. The lines are straight, making this a very flat and boxy dress that is very unflattering.
