I see why some comments mentioned it was "too puffy". It's quite puffy, with a squared/angular construction at the shoulders, the area doesn't curve naturally with the shape of the shoulders as other puffy coats do, so it looks like the wearer has shoulder pads (that was my bf first reaction). Also ...have in mind this an oversized fit, as the description reads. Might persuade him to exchange for a Small, got him a Medium. He is about 5'6", little over 40" chest size and 34-30 for jeans. It's good quality for the price, the black one is a nice rich black color and I appreciate the cuff rib on the inside sleeve to keep the warmth in. I would still recommend this coat, but would recommend sizing down depending on your preference.

I suspect this coat had been worn before and then returned. I'm not sure how quality control operates... at GAP, but someone should be held accountable for this. I will seriously reconsider purchasing another item from GAP.com in the future.

I ordered a medium black coat, and while it fit larger than expected, that isn't my only complaint. The coat had a terrible odor, reminiscent of strong body odor, and one of the sleeves was pilling. I suspect this coat had been worn before and then returned. I'm not sure how quality control operates at GAP, but someone should be held accountable for this. I will seriously reconsider purchasing another item from GAP.com in the future.

This jacket was heavier than expected. Will be great on those frigid winter days. It's stylish, comfortable and has large side pockets and a hidden inner pocket. It sits long and won't ride up.
