I absolutely love these shorts, but sizing can be an issue. I'm 5'8/140lbs (straight no curves) and usually a 28T in most gap jeans and got medium wash, light wash, and gray all in 28T. They are all oversized and loose, so they hang on my hips like old school 90's cut offs, but they stretch out ev...en more as you wear them- The gray ones especially!! Way looser than model pictured, so I then ordered a 27 in light destroy, but think I could even do a 26 and they'd be loose enough. If you have smaller hips compared to your waist like me and want low rise, hang off hips, loose, I would go one sz down. If you don't want them as low on hips after buttoning, probably size down 2. If you're curvy or have a decent booty, I have no clue :)
I really wanted to love these shorts and I even bought them in two different washes. However, since they are low rise they just didn't work for my body. I have a small waist and larger hips and butt so there was a huge gap on the small of my back. These shorts brought back bad memories from my late ...90s/early 2000's when low rise was all the craze and I had to constantly pull my top down to cover the gap on my back so my underwear didn't show! If you have a small booty and can wear low rise then these are great. They are loose enough, a great length, just the right amount of distress, and a great color. Unfortunately they just won't work for me!

Ordered a size 27. Im 5'1" and weigh 117 and they fit loosely. I do have a bum so they hang there nicely. I would've needed a size smaller for them to fit snug. They are not high waisted.
