I have purchased these as a staple basic tank for maybe 4 years now as the style is very well designed and truly fits better than many other options out there. Just in case anyone purchased previous years like I did, this batch is not quite as nice. They're not bad by any means but they are not as... soft, and they are definitely smaller in how they fit as I still have lightly used Larges from previous years to compare directly. (They are also small compared to the 2026 rib knit tank as well - those larges are fitting me fine still). Always sad to see companies have a drop in quality. I'm still keeping most of what I got as the price was so good that I can afford to not worry about just wearing them for everyday stuff, and so many other tanks are SO expensive these days. But I did return a few to switch out for the rib knit style instead because it's just more flattering. (The rib knit style is also not as soft as the old modern tanks were, but they're flattering, not as tight, and I like the garment dyed look and colors are good)
I have been wearing this tank top since 2011. I first purchsed one when I was pregnant and needed a thank top that was a little longer. I loved it and continued to purchase them after my pregnancy. I wore them to sleep, around the house, and for casual errands. It was the perfect fit and was offered... in so many fun colors throughout the years (although they recently stopped making them in seasonal colors, which was such a bummer). It was a staple in my wardrobe for over 13 years!!! I recently purchased a few to replace my old ones and was so disappointed by the new design. The seem along the neck and underarm is thicker, making the neckline higher and the armpits smaller. The seam is also stiffer, so it's tighter all around. The new design is too uncomfortable for me, so I won't be purchasing them anymore. GAP, please, when you make have a design that works AND SELLS WELL, don't change it! I'm now on the hunt for a replacement closet staple :(

I like the fit but ithe fabric is too thin and thus see through. I won't wear the white one on its own.

Style is changed. These were my go-to tank and undershirt for the last decade. The new style is a different fit--more snug, shorter, with less nice fabric. Also the seams are a bit itchy. I wouldn't say it's not true to size, just a tighter, shorter style/fit. Disappointing.

The Modern Tank is a staple I wear every day, so I regularly wear them out. I recently purchased a new Modern Tank and found the fabric to be of a lower quality, it's shorter and clingy, and it frequently bunches up so I constantly have to adjust it. I'm not sure if this is shrinkflation or a change based on customer feedback but I'm sad they messed with perfection. Gap, could you make a Classic Tank and bring back the previous fit and fabric?

I have purchased these as wardrobe staples for the last several years. They covered my bra completely, weren't too low cut, and hit at a good spot below my pant line so I didn't have to worry about them riding up. I ordered five more in various colors and was so disappointed. 👎🏼 They're shorter than in past years. 👎🏼 They're much lower cut so now my cleavage shows 👎🏼 the edging around the straps has changed. 👎🏼 the cotton is much much thinner than in previous years. Bring back the last version! I won't buy any more of these. I'll have to start shopping around to find a new tank. Very disappointing because these, in prior years, washed really well, held their shape, and maintained their color - even the black. They again, GAP.
