I usually wear a size 10 in girlfriend khakis and the jean 5 inch shorts and a 12 sometimes in the high waisted stuff from GAP that is tighter fit. Iʻm 6ʻ1 and around 175lbs and a size large. I was looking for a pair of copper/earth toned wide legged tall pants. GAP was the only one that came in the... right length. I usually need 35 to 36 inches on the inseam. I also can wear lucky tall jeans well. I was told to size up and looking at the sizing it looked like I would need a 14. 14 was way too big so I returned and got the 12. The 12 fits great around the backside, but it looks better with a belt if my shirt is tight. I have about a 33 inch waist. The fabric is medium to heavy and feels nice for fall. Not a chino. The legs are wide but not super wide like the old JNCOʻs. Wish this came in more colors and also a wide legg version (long to the floor not high water) that is chino for tall in shades of brown.
On the models the pants look long and they are so short. Fit for someone maybe 5'1' for a regular length. I'm 5'6" and this is not a natural normal length for any pant. It looks when put on like I'm waiting for a flood and the guide says they are full length pants. I got a size 4 like the "model is ...wearing" and they look so unlike the photo it's basically a gimmick. Beware! They fit in the waist but look really stupid on. The retailer needs to add the inseam length the model is wearing because this is a terrible marketing tactic. I'm furious. The pants are super thick and nothing like the description. The color is beautiful but also, unlike the photo, it should be more tan than pale yellow.

Sizing is smaller than usual. They are very planky and didn't work for me, but the quality is good, like most Gap things.
