I ordered the Modern Khaki in Straight Fit in Palomino Brown, size 34x36. These pants are comfortable and nearly perfect—straight through the thigh with enough room for comfort, not so slim that I can feel the fabric skimming the circumference of my leg. And flexible! I can squat to hoist my two-yea...r-old or crouch to retrieve whatever he's hoarded behind the couch without noticeable stress on the seams. They are so great, in fact, that it's almost disappointing that the tall sizes end at the 36" inseam. Old Navy chinos are available in 38" inseams (~46.5" outer length) and they fit me perfectly after a machine wash and dry. (For reference, I'm 6'4 at 200lbs, and I'm a 34x38 in the American Tall brand and in the Levi's brand.) Since 'tis the season for holiday discounts, I can justify the expense of having my tailor squeeze out another 3/4" from the hem to reach that length, hanging to dry for the lifetime of the pants.
Despite size availability, it's still a five-star review. I ordered three more pairs in other colors.

These pants have changed!
In the past I have always purchased these for my husband for work as they were a little nicer than a typical casual chino. I just ordered 4 new pairs and the fabric and style has changed. They are a much more casual and less refined style. The seams are all showing on these new ones but the older... ones have hidden seams around the waist, pockets and hem. The materials is also rougher and rigid on the new ones. The lighter color of the new batch was like the old ones but clearly they are switching them to this new style as the rest were horrible. I went to my old order and clicked on the item to reorder...assuming they would be the same pants...but they are not at all.

These fit pretty great. The only issue i have is the pockets are kinda small and not deep. So may be an issue having multiple items in my pockets, phone, headphone case, keys, change etc. Worried they will fall out. Otherwise great fit

I recently purchased the Modern Straight Khakis from Gap and I'm really impressed. The fit is spot on clean and modern without being too tight or too loose. They're extremely comfortable and have just the right amount of stretch, which makes them easy to wear all day, whether I'm at work or out casually.
The fabric feels high quality and durable, and they hold their shape well even after a full day of wear. I also appreciate how versatile they are they dress up nicely with a button-down or look great with a casual tshirt. The length and waist sizing were true to size, which is always a plus.

I usually wear slim/skinny pants but lately the baggy trend has been coming back so I thought these would be a good middle ground. Worked out beautifully, they're certainly more baggy than I'm used to but are not "baggy" or annoying. Just enough to fit with the trends. Much more comfortable than skinny pants too! The color appears more like a light brown in person. #sweepstakes

Other than the fact that it took over a month for these to arrive (after the event we needed them for) I only gave these a 3 because we got almost the identical pair at Target and they were less money. And they were oddly baggy around the hips for a straight fit pant. They would make a good versatile pant though.
