I had been looking for a couple of reasonably priced, light weight hiking pants for quite a while. I wanted something with a similar look, feel and function to the high-end edc pants I have but without the triple digit price tag.After reading the reviews for these pants I was really leery about orde...ring them even though they seemed to be exactly what I was looking for... but I figured what the heck, returning things through Gap direct is easy so I ordered a pair.In a lot of the reviews people recommend ordering at least a size larger than your actual waist size so I took that advice and ordered the correct length but two sizes larger than I normally wear. The pants came and they were just a little large in the waist, so if you like your pants to fit perfect I would recommend ordering only one waist size larger than you actually wear.I ordered a length of 32 and the length is more like a 34 but that works out fine for me because I tuck them into my boots when hiking anyway.These are really nice pants, especially for the less than $30. I'm surprised and a even a little disappointed by some of the reviews I read because they almost convinced me not to purchase them. They are light weight, breath easy and well made and they look nice too. I ordered another pair which arrived yesterday and the fitting was the same as the first pair.I love these pants and couldn't be happier with both purchases. There are two reasons I gave this review 4 stars instead of 5. The first reason is because the sizing is off, a 42 inch waist should be 40 inches, you shouldn't have to spend 45 minutes reading reviews to know you have to order a size larger than you actually wear.
Over the course of several years, I have been a loyal buyer of these cargo pants, which unfortunately went out of stock for an extended period. Recently, I was delighted to learn that they were back in stock, prompting me to place an order for two pairs in three different colors. However, upon recei...ving the items, I noticed a disparity in the quality of the materials used. Regrettably, two out of the three pants were not crafted from the familiar high-quality fabric I had grown accustomed to. Furthermore, there was a notable difference in the tags attached to the pants, with the inferior ones lacking the "Gap Flex" label present on the interior. Consequently, I decided to initiate a return process for these items, seeking a resolution to this unexpected discrepancy.

Large sizing in waste which I appreciate but can lead to slip-ups exchanging. If you are a 32 you might get a 31. Proprietary box weave reminiscent of real Army regalia makes these a show stopper. For me personally not an every week wear but a wardrobe staple nonetheless.
