for reference, I have a 27-inch waist at 5'2 129lbs. I carry weight in my mid section.
the material of these shorts is beautiful and you can just tell they are good quality & would wash well
however, I purchased the S, and the waist was slightly large and legs a bit wide. I am going to try the XS... if they come back in stock in the striped style

Runs Big in Waist
I have worn a S in Gap pull on shorts over the last several years. All fitting the same. These fit comfortably everywhere except, are baggy around the waist, which defeats the elastic waistband. I fear the XS would not fit around the butt, legs, and maybe length once over my rear. The pockets are ni...ce to have but don't lay right, and it is not because of not fitting. Wanted these to work because they are super cute and seemed to be comfortable.
