I'm 5'9, 230, Size 16, C cup, & pear shaped. I ordered this in khaki & blue dot in 14 & 16. I've only received the khaki 14 so far (pictured), so my review is based on that. This is cute & I can't wait until my blue dot one arrives! The front split didn't seem too high to me (& I'm 40+ & dress very... moderately....lol). I was worried about that due to early reviews, but would've sewn it shut a few more inches if it had been a problem. The arm holes didn't gape on me, but I have large arms so maybe that's why. That said, I love: 1. The cut & material details of the corset-like midsection on the front & back. 2. It's light, breezy, unique, comes right above my ankles, & is flowy at the bottom (not stiff). 3. The collar does stand up as someone mentioned, but similar to a coat or cape collar, which I thought was cute & unique. 4. Yes, it is wrinkly, but the description says 100% cotton, so I expected that. I'll have it starched & pressed at the cleaners to make it crisp & it'll be beautiful. 5. I also don't own any lined shirt-dresses, so I expected it to be unlined (which it is). I like this dress.
I was so excited to receive this dress and so disappointed that it was so very big. According to the size guide, I should have ordered a 14 (40 30.5 41) to fit my bust (40 bust x 30.5 waist x 41 hip) but I'm finding most Gap tops and dresses fit better in a 10/M. To be safe, I've been ordering bot...h 10 and 12 (or M and L) and keeping the one that fits best--and it varies as to which size is the keeper. With no 10 available, I ordered the 12, hoping against hope it would fit. It was enormous! For certain, the 10, if available, would also have been too large but, if the size chart had been accurate, I would have essayed the 8, and perhaps even the 6, and might have been fortunate enough to own this dress but now it's too late. I feel robbed. So disappointed in the sizing, I didn't spend a lot of time examining the dress but the fabric feels heavenly and it appears to be well made, hence the three stars in spite of my dismay at being unable to keep the dress.

it looks so beautiful on the model, but it is overwhelming on someone my height (5,4). It is also very very large, so much so that even the 00 ( which I am absolutely not in any other piece of clothing or brand) is a bit loose around the torso and waist. I think it would be stunning on a taller person, as it is very pretty!

This dress looks amazing…even on a heavier gal like myself. Phenomenal…please bring back the Gap of the 90's I remember. This took me back to the classy Gap of my youth. Please don't hold back if you can snag this gem. I purchased the navy one, but was wanting to get my hands on the tan one as well. It is long for someone that is 5'4 in height, but don't let that deter you. A pair of heels or some open toe sandals with a small heel with fix that issue in a pinch. Great casual look or make it extra nice with some beautiful jewelry.

I loved the dress, just wasn't right for me. I'm 5'4, 122lbs, 34B-C. I ordered both the 2 and 4. There wasn't much difference at all, but the 2 was a bit too snug in rib area. Floor length for me. I almost kept the 4. If it had been on sale I would have.

I bought the Classic khaki tan dress in a size 10 for my son's college graduation the day this collection dropped in April. At first I thought it was a little tight in the torso, I am short waisted & a 34DDD, and thought I might send it back. I decided to keep it, wore it a month after purchasing & had people passing by me saying they love my dress. I am so glad I decided to keep it! This dress is so flattering. I wish I could buy it in white but my size is sold out.
