It is a stretchy material, so if you a true medium, you can go to a size small. If you want it loose than size up, beware it will be a low neck. I like it when I wear it together with the pants because it looks like a set with the buttons. It is breathable and comfy. I'm a true Medium and purchased a small and large. I like the small best on me.

I sleep hot so finding things I can comfortably sleep in is challenging. This shirt is one of the few things that I can comfortably sleep in while not feeling frumpy. My only gripe is that is shorter than I expected. I consistently wear a size small in Gap items and this feels like it runs a bit small.
