The elastic waist is a great option for girls that don't like the button and zipper of traditional jeans. My daughter is 10 y/o and slim and tall and I ordered the 14 Slim, and the waist and length of the jeans fitted her just right. I can't say how it goes with the Regular fit. So you must go up... one or two sizes especially with Slim.

Yup, too tight
I should have taken the reviews to heart. My daughter is 58", 80 lbs. She usually wears a 12 slim but based on the size chart she looked to be a perfect 12 regular. Thinking that was "sizing up" I bought them, and now I'm returning them. They looked like they were painted on - perhaps this was inten...tional, but not a fit my tween was comfortable with. Definitely size up-up for a more normal fit.
