Customers can be approved for a credit card accepted at the Gap Inc. family of brands or a Gap Inc. Visa Credit Card that can also be used anywhere else Visa Credit Cards are accepted.

When will I receive the card?

Customers who are approved will be sent their new card via U.S. Mail within 7–10 days from the date they are approved.

Will I be able use the card right away?

Customers who are approved in-store will receive a Temporary Shopping Pass, which includes their name, account number, date of issue, APR, and temporary credit limit. A valid driver’s license or government-issued ID must be presented each time a Temporary Shopping Pass is used to make a purchase. Customers who are approved online will also be provided with a temporary account number, which can be used online and in-store along with valid driver’s license or government-issued ID.

Where can I use the card?

You can use your card at any Gap Inc. store, or online, including Old Navy, Gap, Gap Factory store, Banana Republic, Banana Republic Factory store, or Athleta. Unfortunately, Intermix, Janie and Jack, and Weddington Way stores do not accept private label credit cards at this time. If you are approved for a Gap Inc. Visa Credit Card, it can also be used anywhere in the world where Visa Credit Cards are accepted.

Please review your account for any purchases you did not make and report them to the customer service department when you call. Synchrony Customer Service will mail individual cards to the primary cardmember with the authorized user’s name on the front of the card. Note that minors may be authorized users. However, authorized users are not joint applicants and are not financially responsible for account activity. The primary cardmember’s monthly billing statement will include any activity made by authorized users. Purchases by primary cardmember and authorized users are not separated on the billing statement.
