The photos on the model make it seem like these are a more distressed black. They are true dark black on the ones I received, which I actually prefer, but take note. These will be my new airplane/travel pants. Basically sweatpants but barrel cut so they fall nicely and look more sleek. It says heavy...weight, but they are not really. I would even consider them kind of lightweight. So either I received the wrong pants (order and tag says it's correct) or the description/photos are off.
I ordered my usual size small. I have the other style of gap barrel sweatpants in small and they are AAH-MAZING and fit perfectly! These were extremely tight in the waistband however, and the black in the photo is what I thought I'd receive (which is more of a washed black). I received true black. I... cut the tags right away because I was excited to wear them! So MY fault. So for anyone else, I would recommend ordering a size up and try on before cutting the tags! I am bummed that I essentially wasted money but I'll give them away so someone else can enjoy them. I am usually very happy with all of GAP products though!!

Super comfy but color is off. Definitely a true black, not a washed black by any means. I was nervous they would be tight becasue of other reviews, so I got a medium and a large. The waistband on the medium can feel a little tight at times, but the large was way too big.

I was hesitant to order my normal size due to the reviews saying to size up. So glad that I did not size up. The waistband was not tight on me and I ordered my normal size large. Great material and so comfy!

These are the same material as the wide leg cotton pants- kind of a heavy tshirt material. The black is a true black, not washed. I got a large, which is what I got in the wide leg. The waist is super tight and not at all comfortable. Also, since they don't offer petite in this style (why?), they're too long for me (5'6"). The barrel is subtle, and I love the fabric. If you have a small waist, then you will probably love these. I'm just Apple-shaped so there are better options. I hope they keep this fabric. It's so nice for fall weather in warmer climates.

I'm not really sure what the low ratings are about. Yes, I agree I would not call these "heavyweight" pants. But, amazing, yes! They fit great, comfortable and stylish casual wear. I came back for the black but they are sold out.
